The program has existed since 1892, while this logo was used from 1970 until 1996. The Terps won one national championship, in 1953, and have sent many players on to pro football, including Gary Collins, Vernon Davis, Boomer Esiason, Frank Reich, Stan Jones, Tony Greene, Jermaine Lewis, Dick Modzelewski and Frank Wycheck.
